The Budapest Major Pick’em Challenge and spectator tickets are already in the game

The main focus of the new CS2 update is the upcoming Budapest Major. The tournament started on November 24, but eleven days before that, Valve released the traditional event center. It includes a special tab with tournament info and allows players to purchase team stickers and make Pick’Em predictions.
The Budapest Major Pick’Em format has not changed. To earn Diamond Coins, players must complete all objectives: five correct choices in Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3, plus correct predictions for two quarterfinals, one semifinal, and the final.
To get these coins, you have to buy a Viewer Pass. As usual, it is available in two versions: a basic version for $10 and a premium version for $18, which includes three souvenir packages. The same package is also obtained when upgrading coins from Bronze to Silver, then to Gold and Diamond.
New Budapest Main CS2 Stickers

Valve continues to support Budapest Major participants. The CS2 Store now features capsules with player autographs and team logos from those competing in the Hungarian capital. There are three capsules with team logos and three capsules with signatures, depending on which stage the player or team is in.
Each capsule comes with stickers in four types: paper, holo, gold, and embroidery. Let’s take a closer look at the last type.
Embroidered Stickers in CS2: New Types of Stickers

For the first time, CS2 introduces embroidered stickers. It looks like it is made of cloth and has a unique texture. This type has never appeared in any capsule before, whether tournament related or not.
Interestingly, for the second Major in a row, Valve added a unique sticker: The Austin Major paper sticker glows in the dark. Budapest Major’s embroidery does not shine, but it will definitely find its fans.
Best Budapest Major CS2 Autograph Stickers

Not all players provide creative new signatures, but there are some who deserve a shout-out. The best one belongs to Biguzera: the Brazilian managed to put a beer mug on his sticker!

Aleksib wrote his nickname backwards, Snow drew a snowflake, Lux changed his name to a smiley face, and Starry framed his nickname inside a heart. Interestingly, Ropz, who once had his heart broken in his signature, managed to recover this time.

As for the strangest signature — that award goes to Kyousuke. Fans are still trying to figure out what the Falcons player meant, but the mystery remains unsolved.
Sticker Slabs: New CS2 Tools

Valve continues to shake up the skin and sticker market. This time the CS2 team added a way to attach temporary stickers to skin. To do this, players can use new sticker plates.

It costs 50 cents and contains one sticker. The plate acts like a talisman that can be removed at any time. Want your stickers back? Just destroy the shield. This feature will likely make Kato 14 sticker owners very happy: they can now show off their rarest stickers in the game without losing their value.
CS2 Item Rarity is Now Highlighted in Inventory

A small but nice change: item rarity is now highlighted in your Steam inventory. Previously, only StatTrak leather, knives, and gloves had special edges, but they were less eye-catching. It’s now easier for players to organize their inventory or browse other people’s collections.
Skybox Fixes, Animation Updates, and Other Little Things

Finally, some less flashy but important updates. First, Valve fixed the skybox in Inferno. It will be interesting to see how this affects the map selection in Budapest: remember, Inferno was the most selected map at IEM Chengdu.
Second, developers continue to improve Animgraph2, a new animation system. With this update, the gloves have been moved to a new model.
The development team is also still perfecting the surfing mode: changing the movement values so that players can surf better and faster.
And last but not least, Valve made several performance improvements. Overall, the update turned out to be quite big and interesting. The Bucharest Major is just around the corner, so let’s get excited!
